The Family

Hi everyone and thank you for visiting Monster Horse Products website. My name is Kim and I am the creator of Monster Horse Products. I inherited my passion for horses from my father. My father was a skilled natural horseman. He taught me to ride, care for and respect horses very early in my life. Though my dad is gone now, I continue to foster and embrace his methods and horse loving way of life. We were born and raised in Southeastern Oklahoma. We are proud members of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Tribe. We love to share pictures of our family and friends enjoying our horse time together and hope you will send us pictures of your "horse times" as well! We will happily post your photos on our site to be enjoyed and shared with other visitors.

The Idea

This is my favorite horse, Monster. After I purchased Monster, I found out that he sleeps lying down in a sternal recumbency position which caused him to develop shoe boils on his elbows. I didn't care for the only solution on the market so I created something for him that was soft yet durable and fit him very comfortably and naturally. It took me a year of failed attempts to create something that would withstand his weight and that he could not destroy. Finally, I found the perfect materials and design that allowed him to wear it for long periods without damaging it. By having Monster wear the bootie at night, I was able to reduce his shoe boil to a flat bursa that no longer had built up fluid, did not impede his gate so we were able to ride again and it no longer caused him any pain. The shoe boil has never filled up again. Along this journey we discovered that the bootie had more uses than just helping to prevent and reduce boils. It is excellent for keeping hoof medications clean and in place, it provides cushioning during transport, it keeps the hoof polish clean and protected before shows and can be used as barrier boot in emergencies. My fellow horse friends and trainers loved the creation and wanted a pair and that's how Monster Horse Products were born. The Multipurpose Barn Bootie was launched as our first product and we now have three different product options to help your horse with this problem. All have been tested and successful in preventing further irritation and reducing if not eliminating shoe boils. Choose the one that works best for your horse.

Our Philosophy

Having been around horses all my entire life, I am always happy to share what I’ve learned and experienced along the way but keep in mind it’s just my experience. I don’t claim to be a trainer or expert. Like all of us, I believe every horse has its own personality and what works for one may not work for another. Monster has been a lesson in humility, patience and trust. He’s a bit stubborn like me but we have developed a great partnership.
